Dailymation-The weight of the world

Another weight and mass exercise. One of the most important things I've learnt is the value of double takes- it adds so much to the character's believability when things dont go smooth and accurate

Dailymation- Drunk

He's probably an ex wrestler or something, working as a bouncer in a club when he's not pissed drunk. The fun thing about animating this one is was I could just sort of let each pose call the shots on where the other few frames go. Classic strightahead

Maratoons- Chinese tale

I've been busy for the last 5 days with an Israeli animation competition called "Maratoon". We were given 5 days to create a 30 second to a minute of animation and use three elements given to us on the kickoff.
This year the elements were "a Tail" "a Gong" and "Extortion" (The word in hebrew also means rinsing).
I had some spare time on my hand so me and Uri Inks, my regular partner during college years decided to go at it for old times' sake.
It came very close to the way it was back then, especially the lack of sleep, but at the end of it all- for a 5 days' work Im quite pleased with the result.
Oh- one more thing- this movie is played via an Israel stream site, and this site hands out a small cash prize for crowd's choice- and that's based on viewing and  posting a grade
This link takes you to my page in the competition site. It's in hebrew, but on the bottom left are number 1-5- clicking on them rates the film (5 is highest). (Voting is till december 28th)
so if you want you can go over there and click. Share it with your friends! viewing counts too! (This is really low eh?)

****UPDATE- "Chinese Tale" won jury prize in "Maratoons 2010"******

Credits are important!

The Gift regifted

Not dailymation this time- this is an animation project I finished and uploaded quite some time ago, with approval from the director (Ari Mark), but a few days later he asked me to temporarily remove it from the web so it won't hurt the film's distribution deals.
Well, now it's all behind him (he got the deal), and he gave the OK to reactivate the movie, so I'm taking the opportunity to re-release it on the blog.
This is an animation sagment from Ari Mark's short film, "The Gift" (2010). My part in it was about two and a half minutes of animation integrated in a live short film. It's a great film, about loss, and identity, and the ability to let go.

Dailymation- The Actor

Went to a play with my kids. It was noisy, and loud, and stupid, and they loved it(go figure).
The one good thing I found about it was the actor who played the bad guy. He had this great cartoony exaturated acting- really stretched his body to very strange extremes- it sort of looked like this.

Dailymation-Dance

I'm not much of a choreographer or a dancer for that matter, I sort of let the pose of the character lead to the next logical step and just go with the flow.
so If you're a professional dancer and this guy doesn't move right- don't blame me- this was all his doing!
